We are so excited that you have chosen Escuela Hispana Montessori to begin care for your precious treasure(s). We follow the Creative Curriculum: Teaching Strategies Gold which is a developmentally appropriate curriculum from infancy to pre-kindergarten. In our Preschool 2 room we are preparing for skills needed to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. We are building and strengthening social/emotional, gross and fine motor, cognitive and language skills. Your child will be developing their emergent literacy skills as they get the opportunity to express their thoughts in drawings and writing, they will be able to recognize the letters and the sounds associated with the letter, practicing literacy behaviors/print concepts: recognizing the title of the book, the job of the author and illustrator, recognizing sight words, sequencing, making and testing predictions etc.

We have compiled a list of materials and items that are needed to make your child’s day run smoothly.

Here are the following items are needed at the start of your child’s school day: 

• Change of clothes (2 long sleeve and 3 short sleeve shirts, sweater, 2 pair of pants or 2 skirts, 2 pairs of socks)

• Crib sheet and blanket-to be taken home and laundered at the end of your child’s school week

• Wipes

• Book bag

• Pencil case

• Family photos

 

We also ask that you label your child’s belongs with his/her first and last name to avoid confusion. 

I have attached the daily schedule for your review. Please adhere to the schedule. We are preparing your child for a successful school day. Please try to be here before 9:15am so that your child has an opportunity to participate and engage in the learning experience.
